Welcome to the Brookwood High School Orchestra!
The Brookwood Orchestra Parents Association (BOPA) endeavors to support the orchestra directors of Brookwood High School in achieving excellence for all components of the orchestra program. This program includes the Maroon & Gold, Concert Strings, Symphonic Strings, Symphony, and Philharmonic Orchestras. Since funding for the Arts in Gwinnett County Public Schools are limited, not enough resources are available to appropriately and respectfully sustain the highly acclaimed and awarded orchestra program from Brookwood High School. We desire to continue this great tradition, as BHS orchestras have received superior ratings at Large Group Performance Evaluation (LGPE) for many years. In recent years, Brookwood Orchestra students have been selected for the prestigious Governor’s Honors Program, various youth orchestras, and our own Philharmonic Orchestra was invited to play at Carnegie Hall (New York) this upcoming year!
Each student is responsible for only one program fee each year. As part of the budgeting process, BOPA will determine the program fees applicable to each student according to their grade level as well as sibling discounts.
The Brookwood Orchestra Fee includes the following benefits:
BOPA helps to ensure that all of our orchestra students have the opportunity to learn and grow in their musical journey. We work together with the Orchestra Directors to provide opportunities for students to have an enjoyable time and build camaraderie with their fellow student musicians. YOUR student will learn and grow in their individual, musical talents and abilities when they join the family of Brookwood Orchestra!
Brookwood Orchestra Fee (payable to BOPA):
$235 per student (including Formal Uniforms and Locker Rental)
We are offering a discounted rate of $220 if paid on Brookwood Orientation Day (8/4/16) or prior to September 1st, 2016.
Additional Spirit Wear and Yard Signs will also be available to students and families for purchase.
(Student using a school instrument pay an additional Instrument Maintenance Fee of $60 per year - payable separately to Brookwood High School)
